　　川岛教授对巨大颅内动脉瘤、动静脉畸形、海绵状血管瘤及缺血性脑血管病（如烟雾病、颈内动脉闭塞）的诊断和外科手术治疗拥有丰富的临床经验，尤为擅长脑血管搭桥术、颅内动脉瘤夹闭/栓塞术及颈动脉内膜切除术等，在大量的儿童甚至婴儿进行的脑血管搭桥手术案例中取得了显著的疗效。

　　此外，在颅底肿瘤、脑积水等神经外科疾病的诊断和治疗上有独到见解。
